In the run-up to the parliamentary elections, *Nieuwsuur* welcomes the lead candidates of the largest political parties. They will be interviewed by Mariëlle Tweebeeke or Jeroen Wollaars. Political analysts Arjan Noorlander and Nynke de Zoeten, along with economics expert Mathijs Bouman, will contribute analyses to the discussions. The broadcasts are live and have an audience. For the election specials, *Nieuwsuur* has invited nine parties. This selection was based on the average of the current number of parliamentary seats and the forecasts in the polling guide.
