Overview
Led by Brenta, the contingents of the Mobile and the X Tuscolano continue to hunt Corallo. Barbara and Pietro are exhausted, they feel like they are going round in circles, but Brenta reassures them: little by little they are pushing Corallo towards the edge of the woods, and sooner or later the man will be forced to make a misstep. And to prove his point he shows them a tree, whose branches appear to have been recently cut. They are close to his last refuge. Guns in hand, the police advance, but when they reach him, the refuge is empty. They missed him by a hair's breadth: the remains of food buried nearby are still warm.
